General inspection of M/E condition for proper operation & operative recommendations, including:

  • Visual inspection
  • Chain drive inspection
  • Scavenge ports inspection
  • Testing of equipment (Tacho, FIVA, Hydraulic Pumps, etc in case of ME-C/ME-B
Tasks to be carried out by crew, prior to Health Check inspection from MAN: engine performance test, crankcase inspection including all bearings clearances, guide rails and piston rod.

Thorough annual inspection of M/E condition in relation to all critical components, performance evaluation & enhancement of preventive suggestions plus optimization of performance. Includes:

  • Cabling Inspection to the ECS
  • Ball joints for pull rods to governor, fuel rack and manoeuvring gear
  • Surfaces of all cams/rollers through the inspection hole in the camshaft housing
  • Cylinder liners, pistons, piston rings (port inspection)
  • Crankcase inspection, including al bearings, guide rails & piston rods
  • Crankshaft deflection
  • Chain drive and guide bars
  • Moment compensator
  • Crankcase inspection, including all bearings, guide rails & piston rods
  • Crankshaft deflection
  • Chain drive and guide bars
  • Moment compensator
  • Scavenge air cooler
  • Water mist catcher
  • Earthing device inspection

Pre-docking inspection for MC & MC-C engines

Visual inspection of the following:

  • Ball joints for pull rods to governor, fuel rack and maneuvering great
  • Surfaces of all cams/rollers through the inspection hole in the camshaft housing
  • Exhaust high-pressure piping
  • Chain drive and guide bars
  • Moment compensator
  • Water mist catcher
  • Thrust bearing Earthing device
  • Cylinder lubricating system
  • Check up on spare parts
  • Exhaust valve drop down test Accumulator pressure test

 

Pre-docking inspection for ME-B engine

  • Surfaces of all cams/rollers through the inspection hole in the camshaft housing
  • Fuel oil boosters
  • Hydraulic pumps

  • Thrust bearing
  • Earthing device
  • Cylinder lubricating system

General supervision of all jobs and overhauls, real-time feedback to customer, conduct of measurements and inspection of equipment, sea-trials attendance & performance evaluation during trials, corrective actions if required

Overhauling for all turbocharger types 

  • Complete overhauling upon specified interval times regarding type and usage of T/C
  • Static & Dynamic Balancing of rotor and shaft: Eliminating vibrations regarding assymetries in mass distribution
  • Sandblasting & chemical cleaning of sensitive parts: reconditioning initial characteristics of material, enhancing performance and assuring reliability
  • Inspection & clearance measurements: Preventing abnormal behavior and/or future malfunctions
  • Special inspection of equipment (ec. bearing casing and locating bearing): Determening wear condition and future operating life range
  • Die penetration check for cracks in nozzle ring and compressor wheel: Ecaluating material strength and prevent failure
  • Turbocharger modification and/or installation of new re-designed parts: upgrading tuebocharger efficiency and extending life cycle by adapting latest Service Letters and MAN recommendations.
  • Troubleshooting and evaluation performance: Determining causes of poor efficiency and malfunction indications.
